Filipović A. - The influence of right-wing populist parties upon the national policies towards the Russian Federation: the case of the Progress Party (Norway) and the Danish People’s Party c. 1-35

DOI:
10.25136/1339-3057.2020.1.32373

Abstract: The aim of this research is to determine the degree of influence of the Progress Party (Norway) and the Danish People’s Party upon their national governments’ policies towards Russia. The Progress Party was a member of Norway’s government coalition from 2013 to 2020, while the Danish People’s Party provided support for Danish coalition governments from 2015 to 2019. The analysis of the parties’ origins, ideologies, political programs and policies more accurately explain their stances on Russia, as well as determine the levels of their political will to be involved in influencing governmental policies towards it. Methodology applied in this research consists of content analysis, which was used in the research of the official documents of the Progress Party and the Danish People’s Party; comparative analysis, which was used in the analysis of political programs of both parties, as well as various election results and other relevant data. It can be concluded that both parties have insignificant influence upon their respective governments and state policies towards the Russian Federation. Additionally, both have expressed lack of political interest for establishing Russia as the focal point in their foreign policy programs. By being neither Russophilic nor Russophobic in nature, their presence in the government was not a cause for either degradation or improvement of relations with Russia.

Chesnokova O.B., Subbotsky E., Martirosova Y.V. - PTSI: Testing children's social intelligence through play c. 36-49

DOI:
10.25136/1339-3057.2020.1.32281

Abstract:   This article presents the play-based test on social intelligence (PTSI) in preschool and elementary school children. The advantage of this method over traditionally employed methods is that it does not rely on the mature symbolic function. Preschool and elementary school children find it difficult to adequately react to questionnaires that require interpretation of pictures. In contrast, PTSI employs a simple play situation, easily accessible to 6-12 years old children. This situation allows a sensitive assessment of degrees of social intelligence in children while engaging them individually in an exciting play. The situation requires the participant to find the best strategy for solving a problem, report information to a partner, while making this information inaccessible to strangers and avoiding direct deception at the same time. Complemented by an external assessment of social intelligence, this test can be a useful diagnostic tool for determining strengths and weaknesses in children’s resolution of interpersonal problematic situations, including conflict of interests.

Chang X. - Manufacturing of Concrete Products Using Modern Varnish and Traditional Chinese Lacquer c. 50-64

DOI:
10.25136/1339-3057.2020.1.31877

Abstract: This article is devoted to the combined use of concrete, lacquer and varnish for production of designer products. The author’s examples are the projects “Leaves and birds” and “Laboratory glassware”. The study describes the characteristics of Chinese lacquer, concrete, and features of Chinese lacquer technology. The two projects have different objectives. In particular, the first project shows that a new embodiment of the development of traditional lacquer crafts is possible by means of the work with modern material – concrete. The second project is the implementation of the “environmental protection” concept through reuse of materials within the framework of artistic creativity. We use an integrated approach in the design as an interdisciplinary scientific field. Particularly, various research methods were applied from materials science, cultural studies, chemistry, and art history. Both projects were very successful due to the low cost of materials and their practical application in many areas of technology and art. Moreover, the idea of the combined use of materials with different properties, quality and time of the invention has shown its advantage. For example, in the course of experimental practice it was discovered that it was possible to improve the quality of porous material concrete (namely, to solve the problems of its water resistance) by coating it with a polymer material lacquer or varnish.

Razduyev A.V., Simonova E.A. - Specificity of term formation in the fields of Genetics and Genetic Engineering (based on the English, Spanish and Russian language materials) c. 65-75

DOI:
10.25136/1339-3057.2020.1.31882

Abstract: The subject of this research is the study of main derivational models of Genetics and Genetic Engineering terms in the English, Spanish and Russian languages. The object of this study is the terminological units, selected in a combined total of approximately six thousand units. In the course of the work, the authors examine in detail the origin of some genetic terms, as well as their key structural and word-formative features. The main frequently and occasionally used models of term formation are revealed. The research methodology includes the methods of continuous selection, comparative analysis, reconstruction of the structural-derivational models in the English, Spanish and Russian languages, as well as component and definitional analysis, etymological analysis, quantitative and statistical analysis. The main conclusion of the study is the quantitative predominance of multicomponent genetic terms formed by syntactic models. Frequently used syntactic models are represented by various combinations of nouns, adjectives and nouns, with the use of prepositions, with occasionally used models including participles, adverbs, etc. Morphological models are represented by suffixation and prefixation. Compounding, abbreviation and conversion are distinguished among the frequently used morphological-syntactic models. The derivational models may coincide or be different in the languages in question. The authors’ special contribution is the identification of these differences are drawn from the material of Genetics and Genetic Engineering terminology.
Vishnevskaya L.A. - Specific nature of the existence of Adyghe vocal tradition: past and present c. 76-81

DOI:
10.25136/1339-3057.2020.1.32012

Abstract: The subject of this research is the oral and professional specific nature of the existence of Adyghe vocal tradition in the past and present. Life after life – this figurative way can characterize the modern state of the Adyghe vocal tradition. Published songs of the Adyghe ethnicity and sub-ethnicities (Circassians, Kabardians, Shapsugs etc.) are nowadays no more than a relic, a memorial, a musical chronicle of the history of the people and the object of scientific research. New conditions of living of the North Caucasus people of the late 20th – early 21st centuries have brought about the practice of the secondary folklore – the one that revives and develops the lost tradition on a new level. A vivid example of the rebirth of the tradition of vocal and instrumental performance is the oeuvre of the Adyghe folklore ensemble of authentic singing and instrumental music “Zhyu” (Adyghe Republic, Maikop). Basing on the characteristic features of singing practice in the past, its adaptive reserves in the modern Adyghe culture are singled out.
