Cheglakov A.D. - Striving for naturalness as one of the key trends in the field of modern wooden sculpture: domestic practice c. 28-33

Abstract: The article is devoted to modern trends in the art of wooden sculpture. The main question we ask in this article is how to draw the line between art and craft. The problem of distinguishing between these two terms is one of the important issues in the theory of art. Having examined the work of a number of contemporary artists creating in the genre of wooden sculpture, we come to the conclusion that the key difference between handicraft and artistic wooden sculpture lies in the desire of artists for naturalness, working with raw wood, fixing the natural beauty of the material, which is not so typical for craftsmen. Turning to modern environmental trends, we assume that the task of a contemporary artist and a person who wants to live in harmony with nature is to learn to see its beauty in nature, to guess it even in unsightly forms. The author states that the greatness of nature lies in its diversity, and today, in the era of overproduction, including oversupply of pieces of art, our common task is increasingly reduced to working with objects found in the environment that undergo minimal processing and, first of all, turn, manifest the beauty of nature.

Abstract: Conrad's shorter works of fiction are mostly ignored in the formalistic analysis of his critics. Therefore, in order to fill the gap in the literature associated with the narrative structure of Conrad's shorter works, the authors of this article consider in detail the ideas of Genette's narratology for Conrad's story "Youth, Narration". Narratology, the method used in this article, is a science of literature that originated in the works of Russian formalists and is engaged in the systematic study of narratives. The purpose of this science is to identify the basic structures and relationships involved in the creation of history and its meaning. To achieve this goal, the theorists of narratology have introduced and defined a number of language rules that separate all narratives written in all languages. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that in practice the narratological reading of the material is shown, and also shows how the authors apply these structural rules to their texts. Genette, a French narratologist, introduced five narrative categories in his book Narrative Discourse; these categories include Order, Duration, Frequency, Mood, and Voice. This article discusses Genette's narrative categories applied to Joseph Conrad's short story "Youth, Narrative" and identifies the structural nuances of this story in order to help readers in general and those who study literature, in particular, to touch upon a careful reading of Conrad's writing style.

Abstract: The article demonstrates how the assemblage technique manifests itself in modern wooden sculptures. The author shows what assemblage is and what is the essence of this method. In addition, close attention is paid to another innovation of avant-garde culture organic art, according to the philosophy of which the world is represented as an organic whole, a single system with its own laws. By the example of M. Matyushins pedagogical system, the natural connection between man and nature in works of art is shown. On the basis of the developed creative method, it is presented how modern art can combine such avant-garde tendencies as, for example, organic art and assemblage. Another important methodology, close to the technique of assemblage, and at the same time bordering on the practices of kinetic art, is the creation of sculptures, the elements of which can be rotated. The synthesis of methods and materials allows us to expand the boundaries of art by introducing non-artistic materials into the creative circulation. The main idea of this approach is to enlarge the context in which the work of art we have created exists, to enrich its history. It is stated that the wooden sculpture provides the creator with ample opportunities for experimentation. The ideas and plots of wooden sculptures embody various ranges of artistic diversity of decorative and applied arts.

Abstract: The research of music of the XX century from the point of view of its connection with folklore is of great interest. The article is devoted to one of the prioritized directions in musicology – to the “composer and folklore” problem. Though this is one of the most important problems of native musicology touched upon in publications by G. Golovinskiy, I. Zemtsovskiy, L. Christiansen, G. Grigoryeva, L. Ivanova, etc., some of its aspects are still not studied enough. Among them is the choral compositions of native composers who create the Russian wedding music. The synthesis of different stylistic tendencies and rite wedding songs leads to the new quality of art thinking and describes a topically special folk genre as an essential field of art marked with genre, style and structural variety, variability of primary sources, as well as originality of methods of their realization.

Abstract: The topic of space music requires a new scientific perspective. The goal of this article lies in examination of the historical and social peculiarities of the origin and development of space rock. The article presents futuristic interpretation of musicality of the celestial Universe. The article provides information about selected performers of this direction. Contextually, the article encompasses the stories of JULIAN'S TREATMENT and HAWKWIND. In reconstruction of the chronology for new interpretation, the author avoids repetitions and long descriptions of commonly known facts; aligns the key episodes of narration with the communication lines through the prism of social history; as well as gives assessment to the current situation and forecasts for the future. The recordings of space rock music stored in the audio archives, private collections, museums of music, and other sound libraries comprise the empirical basis for this publication. This article is first to offer periodization of the development of space music. The author’s special contribution of consists in clarification of the chronology of a range of recordings, as well as in familiarization of the audience with other aspects that are combined into a single concept. The provided material is intended for scholars in culture studies, musicologists, historians, archivists, as well as everyone interested in rock music.

: Subject of research in this article is an artistic work of the great French artist Albert-Charles Lebourg. Paintings by Albert-Charles Lebourg belong to the artistic direction of French Impressionism. The authors make the philosophical and art historical analysis of the works of Albert-Charles Lebourg: 1) Snow in Auvergne (the original title The Bridge over the Allier in Pont du Chateau in Winter ) (1886); 2) The Banks of the Seine, 1889; 3) The Two Boats in the Rays of the Rouen Sun, circa 1900. Research Methodology has philosophical and art historical analysis, which was developed by Russian philosophers and art historians: Danneel Pivovarov, Vladimir Zhukovsky, Natalia Koptseva. The article describing the method of art history work of art. The authors use the method of conceptual analysis to uncover the philosophical origins of French Impressionism. The hypothesis was proposed that for the first time in European artistic and intellectual practices Impressionism showed a new paradigm, connected with overcoming the difference between a persons internal and external reality, with the discovery of artistic form for expressing primary and universal integrity, given in direct experience and divided in psychic reality into external and internal dimensions. The critical artistic analysis of the three paintings by the great French Impressionist Albert -Charles Lebourg was made: Snow in Auvergne, The banks of the Seine, The two boats in the rays of Rouen sun, the main artistic ideas of these paintings were revealed. A deep conceptual link of the three paintings by Albert -Charles Lebourg was found, on the one hand, both artistic Buddhism and artistic psychologism (as cult (popular) conceptions of European intellectual life before the First World War). It was shown that Impressionist landscapes of this painter create and convey strongest visual impressions, modeling not only visual reality, but integral psychophysical reality, including the process of immediate flow of visual sensations, that has created and is supporting this strongest impression.

: The article addresses the work of UNESCO in the field of arts education. It considers goals of establishing this policy, and specific activities organized within the framework of international cooperation in the field of arts education. UNESCO recommended documents in the field of education and arts education in particular are studied. UNESCO programs for the development of arts education are presented. The author identifies the reason for the establishment of an international cooperation policy in the field of arts education. Based on the analysis of UNESCO documents, the author singles out the following reasons for the creation of such a policy: the development of human creative thinking; the promotion of social peace, tolerance and solidarity; and the promotion of sustainable development. The author also identifies two functions of arts education conceptualized in UNESCO documents: the instrumental function of arts education, i.e. its use as a tool and method in education, and, in fact, its peacemaking function. The author argues that the documents developed by UNESCO in the field of arts education have little impact on national education programs because of their non-compulsory nature. At the same time, the article draws attention to the implementation of specific projects under the auspices of UNESCO that despite the limitations of their influence are highly efficient.
